Our Mission
WELCOME MessageI want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Idaho Association of Building Officials (IDABO) and thank you for visiting our website. IDABO was first created in 1958, and is currently a chapter of the International Code Council (ICC). IDABO is a statewide organization consisting of representation from five regional local chapters, including North Idaho Code Enforcers (NICE), North Central Chapter (NCI), Building Safety of Professionals of Southwest (BSPSI), Idaho High Desert Chapter (IHDC), Snake River Chapter (SRC), and one statewide permit technician chapter. The strength of IDABO comes from our membership. We appreciate those who step forward to serve, whether as an officer or as a committee member, to help our organization further its goals. We want to thank those that take the time to volunteer whether in the past, present, or future. IDABO’s mission includes serving the citizens of Idaho by promoting public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring safe, accessible, and efficient buildings. Involvement in updating codes and standards on a regular basis in Idaho and participation in code development nationally are essential. Education geared towards members, citizens, and elected officials is a priority. We strive to support uniformity and consistency in administering adopted codes. IDABO is committed to providing quality training opportunities for continued education and learning not only for our members, but also to anyone involved in the built environment who desires to attend. We appreciate the continued support from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) along with the resource of an Idaho Energy Circuit Rider. The Idaho Energy Circuit Rider is a free, dedicated person that anyone can request statewide to learn more or obtain assistance on energy code issues. Please, take this opportunity to browse our website and learn more about our organization. Sincerely, Justin Goodwin |
