Welcome...to the official website of the Idaho Association of Building Officials (IDABO), an official chapter of the International Code Council. IDABO was first recognized as an official chapter of the International Conference of Building Officials in 1958. In our first fifty years of existence we’ve undergone several name changes and seen the merger of three national model code organizations into the current International Code Council. In celebrating our fiftieth year, IDABO remains true to its primary goals of safety and welfare of the general public in the built environment. We include proper adoption of building safety and related construction codes among our goals, and to that end, we facilitate the education of building safety professionals, contractors, design professionals and the general public. We are part of a cooperative effort to help make our communities safer and better places to live. IDABO is composed of five regional groups: Northern Idaho Code Enforcers, North Central Inspectors, Building Safety Professionals of Southwest Idaho, Idaho High Desert Chapter and the Snake River Chapter. Each of these chapters endeavors to provide the best of code understanding, and cooperation with all those who pull up a chair to the world of construction, health and life safety, and every aspect of the built environment. Education, one of our primary goals, culminates every year in late winter at our Education Institute. In early 2009, this will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Plan to join us for this jubilee event. Get involved: contact any of the officers or members with comments, questions, and suggestions. Together we help make Idaho a great place to live and work. Carol Alexander, CBO |
